SNOW!!!!

The weather was a frigidly cold at only 25 degrees this morning. It is only supposed get up to 31 today.
We only got a dusting of snow, but that didn't stop the squirrels from coming out.

We have a fountain and it almost stopped flowing from the ice. My mom went out and broke the ice up with-in an hour it was frozen again.  Later we got more snow. Still the most we got is an inch.

Glowing Balls

My brother and I got these super cool balls. They glow in the dark when you charge them under a light! My brother bounces them all over the house. Our cat even likes to play with them sometimes. Plus they look like eye-balls too which is cool, the glowing part is what I like best though.

Charging in the window

Wrap around Dog Sweater, for Small Dogs

I’m sharing today how to make a sweater that will be soft and warm for your dog. After you are done with this project you will have a unique sweater for your small dog.

Step One: Make a pattern. (I will give you the dimensions I used for my pattern later, in the tutorial)

Step Two: Cut around the pattern in scrap fabric, then hold it on the dog and pinch the fabric at the arms. (This step is not necessary but it helps, a lot so you don’t have to start all over if you mess up.)

Step Three: If it is a fantastic fit, you can cut it out of the fabric you want to use.

Step Four: Fold the arms in half and sew along the edge.

Step Five: Once you have the arms sewn, put it on the dog and wrap one bottom corner up to where you want it. Then put a button on the body side of the sweater, where you need it to be. Then cut a small hole with your scissors directly across from the button or use a button-hole maker on a sewing mashing.

Now you have a lovely sweater for your dog. I used an old shirt as the fabric. You can use anything you want though. I hope it turns out well for you.

Here is the approximate dimensions I used for the pattern. Of course, you may have to change it a little for your dog.

Dimensions:

Bottom= 9 ½ inches

Side of body= 5 inches

Sleeves (on the curve)=9 inches

Top=11 inches

Curve outward toward arm=9 inches

I have included pictures to show the dimensions too, between the pictures and the wording I hope you can figure the pattern out. Remember that it never turns out perfect the first time. So just have fun, the dog will most likely love it as long as it’s warm, I know our dogs would.

I hope you can make your own pattern from the information I have provided. This is the  pattern that inspired me to make this.

In some words in the photos of the dimensions above are spelled wrong (I have dyslexia Coupled with I am just not very good at spelling)...sorry for my misspellings hope you can make them out about that I am sure that a few other of my posts are like that.

Poem Outline

I had to do this for my school. It is words taken out of a poem. I made a short basic outline of the poem. I had to fit in a which or because and a  (LY) word. Which is why the which and longingly is underlined.

Oh why is the mortal here which is so proud?

My swift meteor rests on a cloud.

Lighting I see is like a wave of light.

The king’s hand will carry a sceptre until his death.

The brow of the Priest will have the sweat worn on it.

If you look into the longingly eyes of the sage you will see bravery.

When death arrives you will be lost in your grave.

Fizzing Magic

My brother and I love doing science experiments. My brother wanted to do an experiment one day. He wanted to put water, food coloring and baking soda into a container. I thought he was kind of crazy but we did it anyway.

My mom suggested to put some vinegar in (I think she knew what would happen, but just wasn’t telling.) So we took it up to the tub (to keep the mess contained.) When we dumped the vinegar in we had a big surprise. Watch this short video to find out or just be surprised like we were.

The first time you make it magic fizz, fizz you will have to put in about one tablespoon full of the vinegar and the baking soda and dump them into the tub of water (the container should be about half full with water) at the same time. If you want to do it again only put in about one teaspoon of the vinegar. You do not have to put in the baking soda. That way it saves on produces too.
What you will need:
A container (like a plastic tub, a bowl or a water bottle)

Water

Vinegar

Baking soda

Food coloring (optional) (even if you do color the water
it will not fizz that color, it just makes it look cool)

Little Pets

One day my brother wanted to get a potato bug (my brother calls them rolly-pollys) in a jar, and I wanted to get some worms in a jar. So we took one jar and went outside and we dug around in the dirt. We found quite a few lovely worms, but not to many potato bugs. But we did manage to find three or four potato bugs.

We kept our little pets fore about one week. Then we… well I decided to let them go (my brother wanted to keep them but I thought we should release them so they could have a little freedom before the end of there lives.) (Small animals like that don’t live very long.)  But it was fun keeping them fore a while.

Organizing

My dresser draws were so full I could hardly open them. One day I sat down and went though all my draws. Now they are neat and best of all they open with ease! I did not even have to get rid of that much!

Look at the difference!
