How to Make a Simple Cat Toy

Does your cat love toy play? I will show you how to make a simple cat toy out of household objects.

Step one: You will need a small square piece of fabric.

Step two: You will need to collect a small amount of lint, out of your dryer.

Step three: Roll the lint into a ball shape. Put the lint in the middle of the fabric square.

Step four: Bring up the corners of the fabric square, so you can no longer see the lint ball.

Step five: Get a rubber band and wrap it around the top of your fabric.

Step six: Next get a piece of yarn, about the length of your arm span. Wrap it around the top of the lint ball and tie it.

Now you have a simple toy for your cat.

Homemade dog Harness

There are so many harnesses at the store. What size do you get? Which one is right? Don't worry, in this post I will guide you through making your own custom harness. So today I will show you how to make your own dog harness. Follow along with me and you will have a harness for your pet in no time!

Step one Cut two of the body pieces out. Cut a strip of fabric for the back, you will need one metal D ring or a keychain ring.

Step two Sew the strip on the back of the outside piece don’t forget to put your ring under it before you sew.

Step three Sew the front and back of the fabric together, with the wrong side out, sew them around the edge leaving a ½ inch margin leaving a hole to turn it right side out.

Step four Turn right side out using the hole you left open.

Step five Iron the fabric flat, so none of the edges are curling.

Step six Sew the hole you left open closed and edge and stitch all the way around it.

Step seven Sew the Velcro on the neck and waist.

Step eight Try it on your dog if you need to make any more adjustments you certainly can. If you need the pattern go to

And you did it! Only eight simple steps. Now you and your pet can safely go on a walk. Enjoy!

Helping dogs

I love animals, do You?  we were out in the car. We saw guide dogs and their owner's training together.  it was so touching to see. the dong would guide the blind man, and a designated color would drive right in front of them!  I would think will the dog stop him in time or not?  Every time they die song stop the person and jerked him back out of danger. they lacked the block 3 or 4 times. we saw several people training with their dogs.

I love to see When Animals help people. When people think of a service dog what do you think, you think of a guide dog for the blind…. right? That is not always the case though there are lots of other kinds of services Dogs. It does not even always have to be a dog.

How to Make a Snail House

Do you have a pet snail? I will sow you how to make a home for your it'll guy today.

You need to take a plastic box with a lid. You need to punch some wholes in the lid, you can use a drill for this (I didn't) I used a screwdriver to punch the wholes and then I used scissors and twisted them like a drill to get the extra plastic out and make it smooth.

Now you fill an inch or two with dirt. Put a put in so the snail can have some shade.

Now you need to feed your snail. I have fed him lettuce, watermelon, cucumber's and strawberry's.
here is a video that shows you all that your snail can eat.

I wipe out any muck (by that I mean poop) when needed. I clean the whole home and get new dirt about once a month. make sure to replace the food when needed too.

Caring for Triops (How I Did It)

I had a kit of triops. They did not hatch I even did a review on them. But I wanted to try once more so I got a refill pack. They hatched! I do not know if I didn’t keep them warm enough last time or if the old eggs were too old. I don’t know, all I know is it worked this time. So I will tell you how I cared for my Triops.

I hate it when I have to go to 2, 3, 4 or sometimes more websites to find the information I want. I want to find all the information I

My Story and Review, of Getting a Pet at the Oregon Humane Society

I will talk about how we got our new dog (Missy). I will share my experience with you.

Picking a pet:
We got Missy at the Oregon Humane Society (OHS). We knew we wanted a small lap dog, just like my previous dog (Sadie).

You can just go and look at all the different animals at the shelter if you want. Internet is so handy for everything now-a-days. Almost everyone has a website four there business. So we looked online at OHS. We saw all the animals. It is easier and faster, I think to look at home first, and narrow it down to one or two animals you want to go see. Then go see them.

My story:

Sadie was a small black dog. She loved to be held. she was almost always cold, she would get up by the wood fireplace even in her old age.

She was  a spoiled little baby of a dog. Everyone was extremely sad when she died she was part of the family (at some point every pet is not just a pet anymore but family.) She lived a long life though 15 years, and she got to die a natural death, of old age.

When Sadie was about 10 we got another dog, named Reuben. Sadie rejected him at first but after a while they became best of friends.
                                            Sadie                    Reuben             Sadie + Reuben

Then we got A new dog Missy, After Sadie died. We were Vary worried about how Reuben would react to the new dog. He had waited in the car with my mom and brother, while My dad and me where in the shelter. We had got Reuben from a shelter setting too and did not want to subject him to that.
My brother was holding him and when we started to come out with Missy, my mom took Reuben in the front seat with her. Which was good, because there was a totally opposite reaction than we expected. He was panting and pulling trying to get back to Missy. He welcomed Missy Full heartedly.

DIY Dog Chew toy

I will teach you how to make a dog “Chew Rope” toy. So if you want to make a toy for your dog this is a good way.

Step One: Cut 27 pieces of yarn about 4 feet long.

Step Two: Cut 1 piece of yarn to 3 feet long, that will act as a ruler.

Step Three: Take 3 pieces of the 4 foot yarn, tie them all together at the top.

Step Four: Use a piece of tape to hold the pieces to a table.

Step Five: braid the three pieces together,in a traditional braid.

Step Six:When you think it is long enough, measure with the 3 foot piece of yarn. You want it at least this long.

Step Seven:If it is long enough tie it off at the end of the braid.

Step Eight : Cut the ends off that are not braided. Leave just about ½ an inch below the knot, so it won't come untied.

Step Nine: repeat steps steps 3-8 for the rest of the strings. you should have nine braids.

Step Ten: take three of your braids, tie all of them together 1-2 inches down from the top.

Step eleven: braid 3-5 inches. Tie a knot a the bottom of the braid.

Now comes the tricky part, but you can do it!

Step twelve: you might have more lose below the knot, at the bottom than at the top. If you do 1-2 inches down pinch the braid between your fingers and cut it just below that. Now retie it, do that for all three braids.

Step Thirteen: repeat steps 10-12. You should now have three braids. (make sure to make the braids on all three as close to size as you can)

Step Fourteen: tie the three braids together, tape them to the table, braid all three braids together once you reach the end of the braids tie a knot at the bottom. Now you are done!

Snail

This is a snail. We found it in the hot sun, it was going to die. So we put it in a container. We put dirt in the bottom. We put a pot for shelter and shade, in it And we fed it carrots always wash them. We have also fed it celery too. They live 3-10 years depending on what kind they are. They like it wet so don't be afraid to put a decent amount of water in at a time.

inch worm hatching

We found an inch worm in our yard. We brought it in the house to observe it. Then to our surprise it cocooned. I did not even know inch worms went into a cocoon. after several weeks of it being in the cocoon, we though my it died.

We had always checked it every day still. One day we neglected to check it, one day we saw our cat batting at the cage, and we scolded that cat "don't bother that"! It was only latter that day we saw why she was so interested. it had came out of it's cocoon!

So after a whole season (winter) probably 3-5 months. We had a beautiful moth.

I'm sorry I don't have any photos of the moth to show, my computer crashed and I lost all my photos. I learned the hard way to back any stuff up that you care about or need in the future. But I do have a video of the inch worm.

Praying Mantis

My father found a Praying Mantis and he carefully picked it up. He brought it home. We put it in my butterfly hatching habitat. We fed it flies and ants. Kept it about a week then we let it go in our garden.

It was very interesting to watch the Praying Mantis. To watch how it hunts it's pray, and suddenly lunges out and grabs them with his front feet/claws. We furnished the cage with a stick.
